Christine Full Speed Forever

A little bit over a month ago, I was offered the role of Clarence in the short film ‘Full Speed, Forever. And Sunshiney Days.” We will be filming in a little less than two weeks (I’ll be sharing some stills from set when the filming begins)!

First, I thought I would try filming another video (I’ve only done this once before, but I kind of like the idea of doing more) and tell you a little bit more about the film.

Check it out:

More about the Film:

Clarence (the character I play) is “a left-brained, scientifically leaning, ice-and-fire, kind of gal. [She is] currently working hard towards a biology degree with which she hopes to find a rare fungus and name it after herself.”

On this day, she jumps into a car with her two friends, Charlie and George, and takes off on a road trip. They don’t necessarily know where they’re going, they only know that they want to escape themselves. It doesn’t take them long to learn that this is impossible.

For me, this film is about friendship, fear and new beginnings. What is friendship? Maybe we’re all just islands pretending to connect. There’s always so much going on underneath the surface. We’re always hiding something, and maybe we can never really know each other the way that we want to — the way that we hope to.

In the last year, I’ve cried quite a bit. All different kinds of crying. The crying that you barely feel except for the tear, and the sobbing that shakes your entire body to the point that you’re afraid to completely release it — you’re so afraid by the lack of control. In my mind, what Clarence wants more than anything is that release. She wants to pull over to the side of the road and scream. All these characters are yearning for that chance to release their “true selves” into the world. They’re just all so afraid.

I say new beginnings because, despite the fear, this short film is about three friends who decide to start over anyway. But ‘starting over’ means something different to everyone. Sometimes (all the time?) the road you choose leads somewhere you didn’t expect.

What To Do Now:

We’re looking for donations to help make this film as good as it can be. Any little bit would help enormously. If you’re a fan of this blog and the work that I’ve been doing, please  Check Out the Indigogo CampaignIf nothing else, check out the link just to view the teaser trailer.
